Jim Edwards

Jim attended St Francis Xavier University, where he obtained both a Diploma in Jazz Studies and a B.A. Mus(Jazz). He also attended the Canadian Forces School of Music.  Upon graduation from the Forces school of Music, Jim was posted to Calgary, where he was a featured performer with the PPCLI Band.  Jim is currently the principal trombonist with the Guelph Symphony, and also plays Euphonium with the Wellington Winds and Brassroots.  He has also been principal trombone with the Stratford Symphony Orchestra, and has freelanced throughout the SouthWestern Ontario area.

An avid fan of technology, Jim also holds an M. Sc. in Information Systems. He has undertaken graduate study at IUPUI in Music Technology, and is currently an Executive MBA candidate at Royal Roads University.

Trombone

Jim plays an Edwards T350 tenor trombone with a 320CF Bell and a T-BCN slide. His preferred mouthpiece is a Schilke 52. He also plays a Yamaha 671 alto with a Doug Elliott LT101 C alto mouthpiece. His Euphonium is a Yamaha 821, which he plays with a Schilke 51D mouthpiece.
